Moss Landing Update -Phase 2 Environmental Sampling Results Posted

Environmental Health Bureau has posted the Phase 2 Sediment, Surface Water, and Pore Water Sampling Report prepared by Vistra’s consultant, Terraphase Engineering Inc., along with written comments from the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and the Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Coast Region (RWQCB). The Phase 2 results and agency comments will be considered as part of the forthcoming Preliminary Environmental Assessment (PEA) report equivalent.

See Yellow Smoke?

Yellowish or brownish smoke can occur during turbine start-ups at the facility. When turbines start, emissions are temporarily higher than during steady operation—similar to starting a car engine. This is a normal, permitted part of facility operations. More information is available here
